Huawei outs another Mate 9 teaser, focuses on battery

Xiaomi caused a lot of excitement with the Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix announcements, but Huawei is yet to make its next move. Of course, we are talking about the Huawei Mate 9, which will be unveiled on November 3.

Taking that into consideration, it should come as no surprise that the Chinese OEM is currently at the top on its teaser game. Today brings another bit of early info. According to the short video, the Mate 9 will come with exceptional battery life.

All the hints also seem to point toward some new and better fast charging technology. Perhaps Smart Power 5.0? As for other specs, it appears the Mate 9 will come in the two previously mentioned main varieties. The top-tier Pro is said to feature a 5.9-inch, curved QHD display.

In contrast, the regular flat one will likely be stuck with a FullHD panel. Other alleged specs include a Kirin 960 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, plus 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. Another suggested feature is a dual-camera setup, providing some form of 4X optical zoom.

OnePlus 3T said to feature a Sony IMX398 sensor

OnePlus has always managed to stand out in its own way on the vast smartphone market. The growing startup puts great emphasis on value products and is famous for carefully and meticulously creating its handsets with a quality over quantity mindset. That being said, it is always exciting to hear about a new product in the works.
It will likely bear the A3010 model number, as made clear by a recent 3C certification, and the OnePlus 3T moniker. The title is quite fitting since this time around the OEM appears to have decided to stick with the same design and basic functionality and only upgrade the internals.
A new rumor now claims one of these upgrades will be a new Sony IMX398 sensor. It will likely power the improved 16MP snapper and probably accounts for some part of the $80 price hike. The Snapdragon 821 chipset is another notable improvement, although not a particularly major one, since it replaces the already capable Snapdragon 820.
According to rumors, however, there might be a trade off to the new 3T model. It will likely come with an LCD panel, instead of AMOLED. This is allegedly due to a current shortage, but on the plus side, Carl Pei has reaffirmed that the company will be sticking with Optic AMOLED for the foreseeable future.
The rest of the OnePlus 3T specs sheet appears to be unchanged and features 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB or 128GB of on-board storage, a fingerprint reader on the front and 8MP selfie camera. In the connectivity department, there is 4G LTE, USB Type-C and everything is powered by a 3000 mAh battery with Dash Charge support. The handset will likely boot Android 7 Nougat and should be launching soon.

كاميرا الهاتف OnePlus 3T ستضم المستشعر Sony IMX398

Galaxy S8 to feature "slick design and an improved camera," Samsung says

Samsung has said that its upcoming Galaxy S series flagship smartphone will have a "slick design and an improved camera." The comment was made by none other than the South Korean company's mobile-communications vice president.

Mr Lee further revealed that the device will also feature an enhanced artificial-intelligence service, although he didn't confirm whether or not technology from Viv labs, a startup launched by Siri creators which Samsung recently agreed to acquire, will be there in the handset.
The Galaxy S8, in case you aren't aware, has already been the subject of several rumors, with the latest one saying that it'll feature an optical fingerprint sensor.

Galaxy Note7 now rumored to be out in Europe on August 16

Samsung's Galaxy Note7 is almost here. Almost official, as its dedicated special launch event is taking place next Tuesday, on August 2. We pretty much know everything about it already, save for one thing - when exactly will you be able to buy one? Well, that actually might depend on where you live. A report from earlier this month said the Note7 would go on sale on the day of its announcement, however that may only be valid for South Korea.

In Europe, on the other hand, the release date could be August 16. At least it will be in the Netherlands, according to a new rumor out of that country. If this pans out, then it's pretty likely that many other EU countries will get the phone on the same day. Apparently only the silver and black colors will be available from day one, with gold and blue to follow later.
The Note7 will probably cost €849 in the Eurozone. It's going to have a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED touchscreen with curved edges, a 12 MP Dual Pixel rear camera, a 5 MP selfie snapper, the Exynos 8893 chipset or the Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM, and a 3,500 mAh battery. Its dimensions will be 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm.

The iPhone 7 might feature a 3D touch home button

After a myriad of leaks and rumors, we are now fairly certain that the new iPhone lineup will be available in the middle of September. This shortness in time also tends to give the rest of the Apple rumor collection a certain air of plausibility as well. However, that logic seems to be failing quickly, with head-turning latecomers to the show, like the recent iPhone 6SE naming rumor or the shots of a trio of devices, instead of a duo.
Continuing the same trend of alleged surprises, a new rumor suggests the next iPhone will have a 3D touch home button. The idea is that it will work similar to recent MacBook touchpads. This means being able to distinguish between different levels of force and also providing a vibration or "haptic" feedback to the user, instead of actually pushing in a key.

It definitely sounds plausible, but there is a lot to be said about usability and reception, as the round, physical home button has become somewhat of a constant presence in the iPhone family.
In another rather intriguing development, the same source also hints at the possibility of a Black iPhone option this year. This, of course would be a welcome sight for many, especially those who remember the elegance of the Black iPhone 5s.

New Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mega leak: official renders, specs info and preliminary price

The Galaxy Note 7 is now practically hours away from its unveiling, as Samsung's Unpacked event is set for August 2nd. Among other things, that means a much-needed break from the endless stream of rumors and leaks. However, in what looks like a final burst @OnLeaks has shared a motherload of high-quality renders of the phablet.

Judging from past experience, these are almost certainly Samsung's official press renders, a theory we can only confirm once the Korean giant uploads them come Tuesday. They don't offer any extra information that we don't already know by now, but you can't really beat the level of high-resolution detail we have here. Not only do we get an all-round view, but also the black, silver and blue colors are all accounted for.

Also making an appearance is a render of the new Gear VR headset. If you missed it, the refreshed virtual reality accessory is to accommodate the Note 7, since it is already confirmed to use a USB Type-C connector. However, it will allegedly support older generations as well, including Galaxy S6, S7, Note 4, and Note5. Preliminary info hints at a price of $90, which sounds fair.
Speaking of money, the Galaxy Note 7 is said to cost about EUR 850 on launch. For that you get a 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9 mm device, weighing in at 168 grams. Its hardware includes a 5.7-inch, QHD Super AMOLED display, 12MP camera on the back and a 5MP shooter on the front. For chipset variants, we currently believe there will be an Exynos 8893 version, clocked at 2.3GHz, as well as a Snapdragon 821 version - most probably for the US market. RAM will likely be 4GB as early prototypes show, although there is still the rumolr of a 6GB version floating around. And all that will be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery.

Galaxy Note7 (SM-N930FD) receives certification in Russia

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note7 smartphone has been certified in Russia. The device that has received the certification carries a model number of SM-N930FD, meaning it's a dual SIM variant ('D' at the end).
This comes several weeks before the Note7 is scheduled to be unveiled, suggesting that the South Korean company plans to launch the device in Russia without any delay. This is based on the fact that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge were certified in Russia a couple of weeks after they were made official.
The Galaxy Note7 has been the subject of a several rumors and leaks so far, with the latest one suggesting that the device will come with a few extra S Pen features, particularly within the Air Command interface.

Slide shows iPhone 7 will have wireless charging and waterproofing

Rumors about the iPhone are like fishermen's stories - they grow bolder and grander as time goes on. A photo of a presentation slide lists the highlights of the upcoming phone.
The slide shows an iPhone 7 Pro (dual cameras) but is labeled iPhone 7 Plus. That aside, the phone will run iOS 10 (obviously) and will lack a headphone jack ( a rumor that has been confirmed and denied several times by unofficial sources).
It will allegedly have wireless charging and will be water resistant. Those are two things that Apple hasn't touched, while they are becoming more and more common on Android phones.

This isn't the first time we've heard of a waterproof iPhone 7 with wireless charging, but we're still not ready to believe it. Next thing you know, people will start talking about a microSD slot.

Galaxy Note7 variant with 6-inch display spotted on Zauba

As you might already know, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note - the Note7 - has been the subject of numerous leaks and rumors so far, with those related to the device's displaysuggesting a 5.8-inch screen.
However, going by a recent listing on India's import and export tracking website Zauba, there may exist a variant of the handset that sports a 6-inch display.
Although Zauba listings have usually been spot on as far as the screen-size information is concerned, there's still a possibility that it (6-inch display for Note7) is a mistake on their part.
And what adds weight to this possibility that the phone's unveiling is just a few weeks away and we haven't heard about a 6-inch variant from any other sources. But if such a variant does exist, we'll surely get to know more about it in days to come.

New Galaxy Note7 leak confirms USB Type-C port

While it has been rumored earlier, a new leak - which comes in the form of an image from accessory maker Olixar - has now confirmed the presence of a USB Type-C port on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note7 smartphone.
The port is located at the bottom of the handset, as is usually the case, with a loudspeaker and S-Pen slot on its one side, and a headphone jack on the other. The image also reveals that the phone will feature an iris scanner, something which has already been confirmed by a separate leak.
Coming back to the USB Type-C port, its presence will make the Note7 the first Samsung smartphone of its kind. And this would most likely result in the company releasing a new Gear VR headset given that the current headset connects to Samsung phones via microUSB.

Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Note7 renders

Now that the eagerly fall release of the next Samsung Galaxy Note device is drawing ever closer, it only makes sense for us to start seeing more and more of the phablet. We've been going by one single set of set of blueprint-based renders for quite some time now and its high time for another round. Well, today brings just that as a reliable source sent us a bunch of technical drawings and while there is still a lot to be learned about the Note7, the new images do fit nicely and support most of what we already know.

Galaxy Note7 renders
We'll start with the obvious - the display is clearly curved, as already suggested by a case leakand if other rumors are to be believed, this will actually be the only shape the 5.8-inch, QHD, Super AMOLED panel will come in. No flat one this time around.
The iris scanner is also clearly visible. Flipping the device (or rather the render) around reveals a familiar camera placement on the back - a square module with rounded corners much like the one on the Galaxy S7. In fact, sources claim it will be the familiar 12MP dual-pixel sensor, but with improved software. On its side, we find the flash and likely heart rate sensor.

Galaxy Note7 renders

The back itself looks to be slightly curved and very reminiscent of the Note5. This could suggest a glass panel yet again, a theory also backed up by the visible shape of the S-pen hole, which looks similar to the one on the Note5 and will probably share the clicking pen-style mechanism.
While we are looking at the bottom, we can clearly see a single speaker grill, a microphone and what appears to be a symmetrical USB Type-C port. Fans can also rest assured that the 3.5mm audio jack is present. As for the top side, there is a SIM card tray and a couple of markings, perhaps indicating a triple microphone setup or perhaps a return of the IR blaster?

A 3D render of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (based on leaked blueprints)
As per other currently rumored specs on the Note7, there is the alleged 3,600 mAh battery. Also, a Snapdragon 821, as well as Exynos 8893-powered variant have been circulating the rumor mill. Memory is still uncertain, but 6GB of RAM would be a good guess, along with 64/128/256GB storage options.
The Galaxy Note7 announcement should come on August 2, but that is still not officially confirmed as well.

Huawei Mate 9 won't be unveiled at company's September event

While we were expecting to see the Mate 8 successor at Huawei's September 1 event, looks like that won't be the case. According to Bruce Lee, a mobile product line manager at the Chinese company, the Mate 9 won't be made official so early - that's in context with the fact that the Mate 8 arrived towards the end of last year.
In case you missed, the Mate 9 has already been subject of some rumors, with a recent onesuggesting that it will be powered by the homegrown, and yet-to-be-announced Kirin 960 chipset with octa-core CPU, and sport a 20MP dual rear camera setup.
So, assuming that Lee is correct (we don't have any reason not to believe him), what to expect from Huawei's September event? Well, remember that new Huawei phone - said to be Mate 8 variant with Force Touch display - that was recently spotted on TENAA? Who knows, it may be the star of the event.

New mysterious Xiaomi "markw" device spotted on Geekbench

Geekbench has proven itself quite an abundant source of device leakss. All you have to do, of course, is sort through the fakes and junk and occasionally, you can get a sneak peek at an upcoming handset. This is precisely the case with the Xiaomi "markw", spotted in the Geekbench online database by one Roland Quandt.
New Xiaomi "markw" showing up on Geekbench with Snapdragon 625 1.4g octa core, 3 GB RAM and Android 6.0.1

The unit in question reports that it is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip, clocked at 2 GHz, along with 3GB of RAM. This does allow us to extrapolate the fact that the phone will most-likely be equipped with a 1080p display, since the Snapdragon 625 chip tops out at 1,900 x 1,200 at 60fps in terms of display resolution.
The chipset also comes with 4K video (with both AVC and HEVC codecs) recording support and while we can not comment on the camera itself, other than the fact that it can not exceed 24MP in resolution, it will likely take advantage of said 4K video support. Wi-Fi ac is also likely a given and so is Quick Charge 3.0.
Sadly, that's about as much information as we can piece together. Other than that, Geekbench was also kind enough to report that the Xiaomi "markw" runs on Android 6.0.1. From the looks of things, this could be another quality mid-range addition to the Redmi Note family. We just have to wait and see.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cases confirm it will have a curved display

Less then 24 hours ago a new rumor claimed to shed some light on certain details regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note7 - namely that it will be outed on August 2 (something we've heard before), and that it will sport a 3,600 mAh battery. But what about its screen?
So far we've had a lot of reports saying that Samsung opted to go with a dual-edge display for the Note7. Then again, there were some other mumblings telling us that wouldn't be the case. So what to believe?

Well, if the renders showing these newly outed cases for the phone are any indication, then it looks like the Note7 will indeed come with a curved display. The cases in question have been listed by a well-known UK-based mobile accessory retailer, and they're made by a brand that's got a full line of such products for most handsets out there.
And, as you can see, the Note7 depicted in these cases definitely has that trademark dual-curved touchscreen, a la the S7 edge. But it also has a stylus (with the slot in its usual place on the bottom side of the device), as you would expect.
Speaking of things you should expect, the Note7's resolution is going to be QHD (with a size of 5.7" or 5.8"), while other rumored internals include 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, an iris scanner, IP68 water and dust resistance, a USB Type-C port, the same cameras as the S7 and S7 edge, and a new Exynos chipset with octa-core CPU (replaced with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821/823 in some markets).
