Samsung Pay just keeps on expanding. The Korean company is now boasting that its mobile payments service has entered three new countries in just the last three weeks.
What's more, those markets happen to find themselves on three different continents. Samsung Pay has recently become available in Spain, the first European country it's ever entered. It's also now out in Singapore, which is its first market in the South East Asian region. And finally, you can pay using your Samsung phone in Australia too, which is where Samsung Pay has made its debut within the Oceania region.
"A number of additional markets" are also going to see Samsung Pay launching in the remainder of the year, among those being Brazil, Canada, and the UK. This continued expansion is "bringing us closer to a world without wallets", according to Injong Rhee, CTO and EVP of Software and Services, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.
In South Korea, the service has already processed $1 billion worth of payments since its launch less than a year ago, while in the US it's now supported by 300 major and regional banks and credit unions.
