The Wileyfox Spark is a new series of Cyanogen OS-powered mid-rangers

As far as custom Android ROMs go, Cyanogen is definitely among the most popular ones. With a vibrant community and lots of additional features, baked on top of Google's mobile OS, the platform has been enjoying its fair share of popularity.

Let's just get one thing straight, as it does always pop-up every time we discuss Cyanogen. We are talking about the one made and supported by Cyanogen Inc., not Cyanogen Mod. That being said, if you are looking for an officially supported Cyanogen device, the list is not that long, but is now a bit bigger with the new Spark lineup form Wileyfox.
There are three new devices in the family, all with mid-range specs. First, there is the basic Spark. It comes with a 5-inch, 720p display and 2.5D finish, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage and a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC. The camera setup consists of two 8MP shooters on either side. There are also LTE connectivity and dual-SIM support thrown in the mix. And the whole thing is powered by a 2200 mAh battery.
If you want a bit of extra "oomph", there is the Spark+. It bumps RAM up to 2 GB, and storage to 16GB. Also, the primary shooter has a more generous 16MP sensor.
Finally, there is the Spark X, which adds a bigger 5.5-inch display on top of all that and a larger 3000 mAh battery. However, the resolution, sadly, remains at 720p.
Pre-orders for all three devices in Sandstone Black or White are now live on Wileyfox's website and various other e-tailers. Amazon will also throw in a free protective case and a free screen replacement insurance for a year.
The basic Spark will start shipping on July 12 and should be joined by the Spark+ later that month. The Spark X can be expected in early August. As for pricing, the Spark units will set you back £89.99/€119.99, £114.99/€149.99 and £129.99/€169.99, respectively.
