If you recall, Huawei managed to sell over 100 million (108 million to be precise) smartphones last year - no small feat, by any yardstick. Now, for the year 2016, as one would expect, the Chinese company is aiming at selling comparatively more handsets.
Reports say Huawei's initial target for the ongoing year was 140 million, but it has now been reduced to 120 million. As for the reason, it is being said that the firm failed to achieve its internal goals due to high price tags of its top-end smartphones.
The news comes just a few days after Huawei revealed that it has managed to ship over 2.6 million units of its P9 and P9 Plus smartphones. Unveiled back in April this year, the devices carry a price tag of €599/€649 (depending on the model) and €749, respectively.
