By now you may already have heard about the vivo X7, since the Chinese smartphone has been in the news a lot lately, either through various rumors and leaks, or even some official teasers. It's going to finally become official at an event on June 30, possibly alongside the bigger vivo X7 Plus.
Some of its specs have already been confirmed by the company, one teaser at a time. Thus expect the X7 to feature the Snapdragon 652 chipset and 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB of storage and a 16 MP front-facing camera. Like all recent phones that aren't low-end, it will also tout a fingerprint scanner under its screen.
And this is half of the focus of the leaked promo video you can see above. The X7's fingerprint scanner is put to the test, speed-of-unlocking-wise, against the iPhone 6s Plus and Galaxy S7 edge, which vivo seems to imply will be its handset's main competitors. Spoiler alert - the vivo X7 turns out to be faster than both of those when it comes to unlocking using your fingerprint.
But that's not all. An app load test (the type you usually see in YouTube videos - load one app, go to the home screen, then load another, and so on) also renders the vivo X7 the winner in yet another ad-hoc competition with the iPhone 6s Plus and the Galaxy S7 edge.
OK, vivo, we get it. The point here is that the X7 will be one fast smartphone, despite not using Qualcomm's highest-end chipset (the Snapdragon 820). Too bad you probably won't (officially) see the X7 outside of China and maybe a handful of other Asian markets.
