Meizu Blue Charm Metal 2 will be unveiled on June 13

We were already in the know about Meizu's intention to release a successor to the m1 metal, named the Meizu Blue Charm Metal 2 or simply Meizu Metal 2 . The first solid confirmation of that came in the shape of a TENAA certification from a few days ago. It appears that the Chinese manufacturer has decided to move things along quickly and has already sent out invitations for the official unveiling event.

The event will take place in China on June 13 at 14:00 local time. However, the insider source for the invitation itself has also shared some very different specs from the ones listed on TENAA, which could indicate that the event will be for another device entirely. Regardless of which one turns out to be the true Meizu Metal 2, the new device is said to feature a 5-inch HD display and an octa-core MediaTek Mt 6750 SoC. Its camera setup is quoted as having a 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.

It should also be offered in two memory tiers, which the leak even provides prices for. The base 2GB RAM plus 16GB of storage is listed at CNY 799 ($121), whereas the 3GB with 32GB of on-board space will go for CNY 899 ($136). Both offers sound very compelling at their respective price points, but bear in mind that some price hike is expected if and when the smartphones get exported outside China.
